- Coming home from big vacations seem to get harder and harder.
What in the world am I supposed to be doing again?
Why does it seem like – you go away for 10 days, and come home to this comfortable, delicious, yet foreign place called “home” & suddenly I have to “work” again?

Needless to say: after being gone for 10 days on a wonderful vacation, coming home this week has been an adjustment. We all seem to have forgotten how to live “normal” life – “vacation mode” is still very much turned on and active in all of our brains and we can’t seem to get out of it!
I didn’t share much about the details of our vacation with the “world” – with our social media platforms growing larger and larger, it just seems most prudent to keep the details of our travels under wraps. Not that anything has ever happened (and knock-on-wood, hopefully nothing ever will happen), but it just seems like maybe we shouldn’t shout our whereabouts to the whole world every time we leave the house. Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but it is what it is.
But now that our travels are over, I can officially say that we traveled to Tennessee (to visit Dollywood), to Georgia (to visit Fun Spot Atlanta and Six Flags Over Georgia), and Florida (to visit Sea World, Aquatica, Epcot, Busch Gardens Tampa, and Adventure Island). Our days were packed to the brim and we all came home quite exhausted, but in the very best way. Our SD cards and phones are full of photos and videos and we have SO many stories to share – you know I’ll have blog posts, vlogs, and lots more to share in the coming weeks (but it won’t be for a while, I still haven’t finished my vlogs from our trip to Williamsburg a month ago!) My photography business comes first and I am on the precipice of my busiest streaks ever – so, I most likely won’t have time to edit any vlogs until (eek) August or September! Yikes! It is what it is though! - So yes – it’s been a weird-adjustment week. Thankfully, we didn’t have too much on our calendar. Braelynn had a dentist appointment on Thursday and I had one on Friday. We went grocery shopping and did a lot of laundry.
- My baby sister turned 18 years old on Thursday (cue all the emotions), so we celebrated with a little party Thursday night. We all made food and gathered together for dinner, dessert, and gifts – it was simple yet delightful. The perfect way to celebrate everyone’s favorite Ruby.
- Last night, we were back at Kennywood Park – this time to check out and sample their Bites and Pints event! Derrick has actually done Media Events for Bites and Pints twice now, and for “reasons” I have always missed out – but this year, the whole family got to go! Kennywood gave us all sampling cards and we had a blast going around to each of the booths and getting different foods and drinks! It was so delicious and fun (and such a beautiful, perfect evening to be at the park).
- This weekend is a BIG DEAL, because it’s Derrick’s birthday weekend!! We have some fun things planned – stay tuned!
