- The past week has been a whirlwind.
We went to Kings Island last weekend for a 3-day weekend (and had a marvelous time! I have so much to say and share, but I’ll give the nutshell version: We stayed in Kings Island’s new Camp Cedar – which are a bunch of tiny houses (they call them cabins) encircling an RV park. The kids LOVED our tiny house – it was so fun! We were in the park Saturday night (it was crazy busy), then all day Sunday, then for Monday morning (crazy busy again. We actually kind of lucked out on Sunday because it rained off and on all day, so the crowds were super light! Even though it was raining, there was no lightning, so all of the rides kept running – what an experience!) - We came home from Kings Island on Monday night, and turned everything around to head down to my family’s lake house on Tuesday with my Mom and sister.
Talk about a beautiful week at the Lake!! Cooler temperatures, but beautiful sunshine! We visited a sunflower farm, went on lots of walks, and the kids basically were swimming or fishing or playing in the water every other moment of the week.
(I had a family session at the lake on Wednesday night – shhhhh don’t tell anyone! The family was referred to me by one of my good photographer friends and it all just happened to work out. I don’t photograph family sessions outside of mini-session days anymore, but this was a super fun “I own my business and I can do whatever I want” decision.) - I left the kids with my parents (my Dad came down to the Lake on Wednesday night) on Thursday afternoon and headed back home to prep for my first “big” wedding of my year (and the official “kick-off” to my fall wedding season) which took place yesterday! Derrick was actually the videographer, so we worked the wedding together – it was out in Ohio!
So yes, in the span of 5 days, we drove from Ohio, to Pennsylvania, to Maryland, to Pennsylvania, back to Ohio, to Pennsylvania, and today we’re headed back to Maryland to spend the rest of our weekend at the Lake (and get our kiddos – wow we’ve missed them so much!)
Yes, I’m exhausted. But in the best possible way.
Yesterday’s wedding was a DREAM. I still am searching for words to describe just how wonderful everything was yesterday. Caleb and Juliana are some of the BEST people I have ever had the honor of working with and my heart is just so full. As I go through their images, the words will come – so you can expect a hefty, wordy, AMAZING blog post this Wednesday from their wedding!! Stay tuned!!
