Highlight of the Week
In this week’s episode of what’s new with our house – the last 2 windows have been replaced on our second floor! Now every single window on our second floor is brand-spankin’ beautifully new!
Derrick’s parents came down for a quick overnight trip Monday into Tuesday to make it happen! The two windows that were left that needed replaced were very large windows that are in the front of our house. One is in Braelynn’s room and the other in our bathroom. Can I just say what a gigantic difference those two new windows make?! WOW! All of a sudden, our bathroom & Braelynn’s room have the best light in the house (and I’m a little jealous). It’s so wonderful to have new windows! Just another item to check off of our (never-ending) list of house-to-do’s.
Yes, This Happened
- BEDTIME SAGA: Bedtime has been going great for the 3rd week in a row! (knock on wood, of course!) We’ve been having no troubles putting Braelynn down to sleep and her staying in her bed – thank the Lord! She still makes her way into our bed every night, but we’ll work on that .. sometime.
- Potty training on the other hand has seemed to regress this week – in a particularly rough day, Little Miss had 6 accidents. Needless to say, I was really struggling by the end of that day! Then, we went to lunch with Auntie Ellen on Friday (we went to check out the new Iceburgh Bistro in downtown Irwin, PA! It was delicious – highly recommend!!) and Little Miss pooped her pants! Why is this happening?! We’ve been doing so good!
- I have no idea where she picked it up, but Braelynn has begun calling me “Mommy Bear” this week. I must admit, my heart melts just a little more every time she says it! In response, I’ve been calling her my “Baby Bear” and she gets the cutest little kick out of it! Seriously, we have the most adorable kid!
- I made a pretty big, super challenging, announcement on Thursday on my blog – did you catch it?
- I know it’s not new, but I’ve been obsessed with this album this week!
Feeling Blessed
Happy 4th of July weekend! Derrick has both Monday & Tuesday off, so we have a 4-day weekend together! We still can’t make up our minds as to what we want to do, so stay tuned for next week’s Abby’s Saturday to hear what we decide on (I’m kind of looking forward to it myself!). My only request was to see fireworks and Derrick’s only request was that we go swimming. Braelynn keeps asking to go to the beach, but hopefully Deep Creek Lake will suffice (as we’re at the family Lakehouse for the beginning of our weekend). Either way, I’m determined to take some time off (even though I have a ton of editing that still needs completed) and enjoy some time away from social media & my computer! So, I’ll see y’all on the other side!
