Highlight of the Week
We are back from vacation y’all! Omigoodness, we seriously had the most marvelous time away down in San Antonio, Texas – I cannot wait to write all about it. I have a little more work to do to pull everything together, but our entire vacation recap will be on my blog on Tuesday! We did so much, spent a lot of quality time with Derrick’s family (that I’ve “met” but not really met), soaked up a little too much sun, and simply enjoyed every single moment of being away. It was incredible! And, we’re already ready to head out again – where should we go next?
Yes, This Happened
- So, I will write about our debacle getting home at length in my vacation recap post, but in a nutshell: we should have arrived home around 9:30pm on Monday night. Instead, we had a 7+ hour delay and didn’t get home until 5:30am Tuesday morning. It turns out, staying up all night in an airport terminal & on a plane heading home is not quite as easy as it sounds. I’m not sure if we’ve fully recovered yet! We spent most of the day Tuesday & Wednesday just completely discombobulated, struggling to pull our brains out of the fog. It was just a little bit crazy.
- Braelynn has really struggled with going on the potty since we’ve come home. I hear that’s normal – is it? While we were away, we packed a pack of pull-ups and since we were on the go most days, we felt like that was the smartest option. Well, I think she got a little lazy after a week in pull-ups and we’ve had multiple accidents every day since we’ve come home. Hopefully, that turns around soon!
Feeling Blessed
Wedding season officially begins today!! I’m second-shooting for my sister Ellen & it’s going to be an amazing day (rain, cold temps, and all!) I have more weddings planned this season than I ever have before & it’s so so exciting!! It’s also a bit intimidating, but I’m confident the systems & workflows I’ve built into my business over the last 2 years will carry me thru (without me pulling all of my hair out). I’m really looking forward to this 2017 season & I cannot wait to get back into the swing of celebrating & documenting amazing wedding days!!
