Highlight of the Week

Today is Christmas Eve – need I say more?
Seriously though, our Christmas officially kicked off last night – our church has 2 Christmas Eve services and we usually go to the “Eve’s Eve” service, just like we did last night. What a wonderful reminder, as we head into this busy weekend, of why we’re actually celebrating.
Today we are heading to Christmas at Meme’s house for our traditional breakfast & then gifts! I’m SO excited for Christmas + Braelynn this year – she is going to LOVE it!! I cannot wait to see her face tomorrow morning when there are presents under our own tree & we can finally give her all these gifts we’ve been hoarding for her for months!!

Yes, This Happened

• Braelynn has fallen in love with Frosty the Snowman. We watched a few of the “classic” Christmas movies this week & she loved Frosty. She now asks to watch it (as well as Frosty Returns) every day and how can I say no? It’s so sweet!
• We baked cookies on Thursday – something like 13 dozen! We then packaged most of them up & walked them over to our neighbors as a little Christmas present from us! I hate to admit it, but we probably aren’t the best neighbors. I tend to be shy & introverted when not forced otherwise & when I’m outside, I’d rather just be left alone. Derrick does better – he’ll at least initiate conversation, but we could be so much better! So, in an effort to be better – Christmas cookies (plus, someone had to eat all of those cookies & it definitely did not need to be us!)

Feeling Blessed

Again – it’s Christmas weekend! I feel like this whole weekend is just blessing upon blessing. I am so blessed to be able to spend the holiday with my favorite people in the world: Derrick, Braelynn, and my family. We have a busy weekend planned, but I can’t wait to see and catch up with some of my extended family who I haven’t seen in 2 years (or more). I am beyond blessed.
