Happy 5th Birthday, Braelynn!

Well, here we are! The eve of this beautiful girl’s 5th birthday! How is that even possible?

We’ve been celebrating – well, I was going to say all week, but let’s be honest – we’ve been celebrating Braelynn’s birthday since Christmas! On January 1st, we created a paper-chain with one ring representing every day to count down to her birthday – and every morning she woke up & eagerly ripped off another ring. It’s served as the perfect visual reminder of the upcoming biggest day in Braelynn’s year!

Tomorrow is the BIG day though & we’ll be celebrating with a BIG party! We’ll be once again packing out all the corners of our house for a PAW Patrol themed party for our sweet girl. We’ve been decorating all week & baked cakes all day today – tomorrow is going to be such an exciting day!

Braelynn has grown & matured over the last year in ways I couldn’t even imagine. She is truly a little girl now – no more “toddler”! She is such a sweet, happy, helpful little girl. She loves being a big sister & simply adores Leander (and the feelings are mutual – he adores her right back). You can often find her drawing, coloring, or doing anything “art”, she is constantly carrying a “stuffie” around (every time we leave the house, a stuffed animal has to come with us), and her imagination fuels every other moment of her day. She always has a set of figures set up, carrying out some sort of adventure. She loves to read, loves to learn, and loves to do “projects” (which are any special things I can come up to do with just the two of us while Leander naps). She eats peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for lunch (just about) every single day.

Happy birthday sweet girl – I can’t wait to see how you grow this year!

It’s so funny how different taking these photos today were over last year! Last year, Leander was just an 8 week old little newborn, and this year, he was constantly walking thru my frames, jealous for attention – it was hilarious!

See? There he is again!
