Happy Birthday, Derrick! (aka XscreamThrills

Dear Derrick,

I was thinking this morning about how grateful I am that 34 years ago today, you were born. What a monumentous day that was! A day that would forever change my story (even if I wasn’t quite born yet – that was another special day that would come a few years in the future).

Without you being born this day, I wouldn’t have had a Best Man to dance with at Paul & Naomi’s wedding.
Without you being born this day, I wouldn’t have a roller coaster riding partner.
Without you being born this day, my last name would not be Abbey.
Without you being born this day, our sweet babies wouldn’t exist.

Life is so exciting because you were born on this day! I literally cannot imagine what my life would look like, if June 11, 1986 had not been the day that Derrick Abbey entered the world. (It would for sure be much calmer & less roller coaster filled – I’m sure of that!)

So, believe me when I say: today is quite a big day. Today is the day we set aside to celebrate you – all that you are, all that you’ve accomplished, and all you’ve yet to do. I love you so so much & am so so proud of the person you are. I can’t wait to see what the next 365 days bring – I’m positive it will be an adventure.
