Hot air balloons.
There’s just something so romantic about hot air balloons, am I right? Something nostalgic, something old world, something dreamy. Maybe it’s because flying is so much like falling in love. The highs, the lows, the sweeping feeling of being lighter than air.

That’s where Megan and Anwar met.
Every year Owego, NY, has a giant Spiedie Fest & Hot Air Balloon Festival. I have never gone but have always wanted to go (it always seems to fall on a weekend that I’m shooting a wedding, go figure, right?) But a few years ago, Anwar was working a booth for the gym he was part of. And this gorgeous girl named Megan happened to be working alongside him. It’s easy to imagine them falling in love among the hot air balloons, but that was just the backdrop as the whole world was suddenly the size of a festival display, advertising gym memberships.

We got together literally on the last decent day of fall last year to capture some engagement photos!! I had such a blast with Megan & Anwar & their pup Copper!! (have I ever mentioned I absolutely love photographing couples and their dogs? Oh, I have? Let me say it again: I LOVE photographing couples and their dogs!) We spent an entire evening wandering around the Binghamton University Campus [including spending time in their wrestling room – SO much fun! Anwar was on their wrestling team & Megan spent lots of evenings cheering him on as he wrestled! He was really good too! His name is up on the wall twice!].
I can’t wait for their wedding this summer – it’s going to be amazing!!
