The O’Dell’s // Waverly, NY // Family Photographer

I met Cristal at Miranda & Josh’s wedding last spring. During the reception, she told me all about her sweet kiddos – a little boy and a little girl – who were her whole entire life. She asked if I’d be available to take family photos for them and of course I said yes! It took us a little bit of time to iron out a date & time (especially after our first session got rescheduled thanks to a huge storm!), but we finally got together a few weeks ago!

Cristal had described her little ones to me, but I wasn’t prepared for how incredibly adorable and happy and excited they would be! For kiddos who had never had professional photos taken before, they were like little pros! They were more pumped about having their photos taken than anyone I know! From the moment they got out of the car, they ran right over to me, giggling the whole time!

Such such sweethearts! They truly love each other & their Mama, and their Mama loves them so much back. Cristal never got upset or impatient with them, even when they got a little overly excited & were running around, only to fall & get a little dirty (normal kid behavior). You could just tell from their eyes – this is a happy, loving family and I had such a lovely time with them!

I got to introduce them to the Waverly Glen – one of my favorite places for portraits in the Twin Tiers! They had never been there before, so we had a blast! The waterfall was gorgeous, the weather perfect and warm, and of course, the playground was a huge hit!

They hugged each other, utterly spontaneously, several times! It was SO precious!

When Cristal & I were brainstorming about their session and trying to come up with a few fun props, I suggested each of the kids bring along a favorite toy. I am so glad that they did! I love these photos!!
