I’ll be honest: I was a little worried about our June video. I didn’t think I would have enough footage to create even a 5-minute long highlight overview of our month!
See, we spent more time away than we did at home in the month of June. And since I keep our roller coaster adventures separate from these monthly videos (which are supposed to feel like “home movies”), I was slightly concerned that our “adventuring” life would outshine our “normal” life & I’d be left with a very tiny video for the month of June.
Fortunately, I was wrong.
I might not have been as creative with my videos from our family life in June, but I still have lots of memories captured on video!
As I said: in June, we took several big roller coaster riding trips (links to those videos below) & then spent lots of extended time at my family’s lake house on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. Toss in a wedding & a handful of portrait sessions for me – and you’d get one super busy month that flew by faster than a cheetah driving a race car. We roasted s’mores, spent lots of time with cousins, visited Kennywood Park with my Mom & sister, and Leander took his very first tube ride (with Daddy) at the Lake (Braelynn snagged a few rides too) – it was a busy month, but it was super fun. Time just needs to slow down a smidge!
Summer is flying by WAY too fast.

Just in case you missed what I’m doing – I decided that I wanted to create a curated “home video” for our family every month (remember those old “home movies” our families used to create? with the giant video recorders that an entire VHS tape fit in?) Those videos were fantastic, but if you’ve ever sat down to watch one (does anyone even own a VHS player anymore?) you very quickly realize that you do a lot of “fast-forwarding”.
So, my goal, is to take all the little videos I take of our family over the course of a month & create a short (my goal is less than 5 minutes long!) video of my favorite snippets.
