- Last week, my humans went on vacation & left me at home for the week. But this weekend – I am on vacation! My new favorite human is Emma – I stayed with her all week last week & this weekend, she took me to the Lake with her. I am living large.
- Okay – before you get any ideas – Abby is still our dog and we aren’t giving her away to anyone, ever. We were on vacation last week, and we’ve got another “mini” trip planned for this weekend! So, my sister Emma, who graciously watched Abby last week for us, is puppy-sitting again this weekend. (THANK YOU EMMA!)
- YES! We have been off riding roller coasters!! FINALLY! Pretty much on or around July 4th, most of the amusement parks within driving distance of us finally got the green light to open up for the 2020 season. Not knowing what the next few weeks might hold (and slightly nervous that things might get shut down again), we decided to run off & get in as many parks as we could! Okay, that sentence is mostly true – the other side of things is: we were supposed to go on a roller coaster riding trip back at the end of April. We had another trip planned for the beginning of June. And obviously, neither of those trips happened. So, once we saw parks beginning to announce opening dates, we made plans. And, all of those plans shifted and changed – and even 36 hours before left, they were still drastically transforming (good thing we’re good at flying by the seat of our pants!) I’ll save all the fun details for when I write my blog post specifically about our trip (hopefully next week), but just know that we had the most amazing time away. We felt completely safe & secure everywhere we went (amusement parks are going above & beyond to keep everyone safe & healthy) & I cannot wait to share more.
Oh & just in case you’re curious, we kicked off our trip by going to Hershey Park & their media event for their new coaster: Candymonium. From there we visited Dollywood, Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom, and King’s Island. Kennywood opened last weekend as well, so we went there as soon as we got home! - Speaking of Kennywood – I tried something new this week – I tried vlogging!! Someone suggested I give it a try, so when we went to Kennywood, I went for it! I had literally no idea what I was doing, so it was just a big experiment, but I’m actually pretty obsessed with how it all turned out! You can see my finished product here, on my YouTube channel!
- I’ve known that my phone was needing a little help for a while now & while I was recording all of the videos at Kennywood, I really realized that I needed to do something to fix it – NOW. I have an iPhone 7 – it’s a few years old, but it’s still chugging along. It only have 32gb of memory, so I have to be careful with what I have on my phone – I dump all of my photos & videos off of it at the end of every month to clear space – I just have to stay on top of it. For whatever reason, the available space on my phone seemed to be getting smaller & smaller. After downloading all of my vacation iPhone photos & the Kennywood videos off of my phone, I was left with just barely 4gb of space – which is like nothing. So, I went thru the process of backing up my phone, reformatting it to the factory settings, and then restoring my backup. In total, it was about a 3 hour long process. But I went from only having 4gb of free space, to having 15gb of free space – so I’d say that 3 hours was totally worth it!
- So, Leander has become especially clingy all of a sudden. He has never been a “snuggly” baby (Braelynn is our snuggler) & he’s never really cared too much to be held or to sit on a lap – but all of a sudden, that’s all changed. Now, he never wants me to put him down (unless of course, he wants to be put down so he can run, then he really wants down). He will come running over to me & wrap his arms around my leg (cue heart melting into a puddle). And he has spent great periods of time just sitting, mostly-contentedly, on my lap. It’s.. different. But I can’t say I hate it.
- Speaking of Leander – he’s also become a huge copycat – for good & bad. He literally copies everything Braelynn does – sounds she makes, actions she does – if she’s crying, he cries with her, if she’s spinning, he spins with her, if she’s running & jumping into the couch, he’s running & jumping into the couch. It’s hilarious & also terrifying all at the same time.
- One more thing about Leander: he desperately wants to vacuum the floor. He loves when I get the sweeper out & he wants to “help” me every time. Unknown to him, I also love sweeping the floor, so that’s a bit tricky – but it’s fun to see him wanting to help.
- My little brother turned 18 years old this week (how?!) I literally remember the day he was born – so I’m not sure how he’s 18 already.
- On Wednesday, I photographed an engagement session – which was also a wedding session – I can’t wait to tell that story! Stay tuned!
