Marty & Megan’s Irish bohemian summer wedding last weekend at New Park in Ithaca, New York was one of the most magical weddings I have ever photographed! From the atmosphere & the old-world style of the venue, to the glorious sunshine & the slight breeze, to Megan’s light, dainty dress & the flowers in her hair – it was all simply magical.

I feel like I can’t even begin to find the words to describe how dreamy this wedding was. Marty spent the morning totally chill & doing what he does best: playing music. There was a steady stream of music coming from the sitting area outside of where the guys were getting ready – guitars, mandolins, harmonicas – it was better than any Spotify playlist! Megan spent the morning relaxing and laughing with her bridesmaids – who all literally get gold stars for being so dedicated & helpful! Especially Megan’s maid-of-honor: Krista, who should absolutely hire herself out as a professional maid-of-honor! I have never seen a girl work so hard & so selflessly to make everything perfect for her best friend.

In a day & age where everyone plans their weddings inspired by Pinterest, Megan & Marty planned their wedding inspired by themselves. The whole day fit their personalities just perfectly: from the eclectic styling of the buildings to the live band they had play at the reception – it was 100% them. Instrumental music that Marty had written played during their ceremony, a good friend officiated, and they wrote their own vows. Even when a lost shuttle bus pushed the ceremony start-time back, nothing could change the relaxed atmosphere of the day.

Megan & Marty – thank you so so much for inviting me in and making me feel like another member of your family. I had such a wonderful time meeting all of your family & friends – you both are truly blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people & I wish you all the best of luck as you travel down life’s road together!!

So, while I was hanging out with Megan & girls, my sister Ellen was hanging out with Marty & the guys! I LOVE this shot she got of Marty!

Marty’s guys cleaned up pretty nice too!

The ceremony site at New Park is nestled in this little valley. It is so beautiful and quiet and the atmosphere is just so peaceful.

So, there’s a tradition at New Park – every couple who gets married there has to take a “keyhole picture”. The owner showed us the original image and told us the story: his parents were the first to be married on the property & this was one of their wedding pictures. Ever since then, every couple to get married there replicates their photo – talk about an amazing legacy & tradition!
