Last year I put together this incredibly fun post of “behind the scenes” photos I had gathered of myself throughout the year. Let’s just say – I’ve been looking forward to posting this year’s “behind the scenes” since – well – since I posted that blog last year!
I’ve had such an amazingly fabulous year, photographing the sweetest & most incredible brides, grooms, families, babies, seniors, and everyone in between! I am so blessed to continue to do what I love!
This year was a little different than last year in that, I was pregnant [and knew it] for every single wedding I shot. It’s actually kind of fun to look thru the images and see my little preggo belly progress & grow bigger with each event! So, if I’m looking particularly fat in any of the images – it’s just my little bean growing & supporting her Mama as she worked this season.
Most of the images below were taken by my favorite second-shooter, Ellen, who also happens to be my little sister. I might be a little biased, but seriously, she’s the best and I’m so spoiled to have her by my side while shooting weddings! When I talk to people and they ask about assistants & I explain that my sister is my main go-to girl, I always get a funny look, but she’s AH-MAZ-ING and I love working with her! She has taken some of my all-time favorite images & she’s such an incredible asset to my business! So, shout-out to her!
I might take selfies with my little clients every now-and-then – how could you resist with this handsome fellow though?!
Do you smell that?
Because when testing the lighting, one should never make a normal face.
Brides – do not worry about your groom’s groomsmen, I will keep them in line – either that or kick them out of the bridal party for you.
I like to play a little game sometimes – it’s called “Come a little closer..”
“..nope, nope, too close. Back up a bit.” LOL
We’re usually really good at staying out of each other’s shots, however, sometimes we like to play little games like “Where’s the photographer?” – kind of like “Where’s Waldo?” only there’s a little more at stake.
Gang symbols.
See my cute little baby bump?
Sometimes, I break out my very best bribery skills while shooting and dangle goodies to entice people [not really, I have no idea what I’m doing LOL]
I am dress-fluffer, bug-getter-outer extra-ordinaire.
Apparently I wasn’t the only one who could smell the obnoxious fragrance coming from the gentleman who ate too many baked beans at lunch.
This is my best impression of a walrus, who’s apparently looking to punch someone.
I LOVE photographing brides who are also my friends! I like to think that most of my brides end up as my friends after their wedding day is over, since we’ve worked so long and so closely together – but Ashley is special because we were buds before her wedding. I was so honored to capture her day!!
I call this “stand on my invisible line” – if you were a bridesmaid or groomsmen at any of my weddings this year, you know what I’m talking about!
I literally have no idea what my hair is going to look like at the end of your wedding! I promise, when I arrive, it will be nice & professional, but by the end of a 8, 9, 10, 11 hour day, no promises will be made!
And just a heads up, if we’re friends/past clients, we will take a group photo!
I’m either singing opera or trying to get one of the groomsmen to levitate, not sure which one?
Momentary lapse of “ewwww, gross”.
Annddd – I have a finger growing out of my nose – how lovely is that?
I feel like I just popped up and said “boo”!
Groomsmen, completely unpredictable & also apparently very comfortable with the wedding photographer!
Selfies with my favorite second-shooter!
I mentioned that we have fun, right?
And last but not least – the wedding where I forgot my dentures at home.
